J'ai les doigts tordus,
comme les histoires
dont je lisait
quand j'était jeune fille.
vagabond et oiseau,
seul dans sont ténebre.

Un tout petit moment.

Jul. 20th, 2008 | 09:18 pm
music: M. Ward-Poison Cup

What do I do with my time that I didn't do before?

I come home from work and I check my emails.
I check my emails and then I have a shower and camouflage all of the work I've done.
If you were to look at me you might never know that I had worked that day.

But then I lie on my couch and grab my book,
and feel all of my daily work rise from my toes and into my arms.

What do common people want to do with their time after work?

We buy groceries and make delicious meals.
We talk about our days, our moods.
Sometimes we go out and ride our bikes,
but these days we just feel like watching movies.

I think about all the things I want to do,
and wish to do all at once.

I want my life to be filled with intimate environments.

Blankets, wool socks, books, glasses, long hair, small beds, sunlight, tea lights, homemade popcorn, wildlife puzzles, shepards pie, docks, old bathtubs, radios, fishing rods, 4x5 cameras, telescopes, baseball caps, dictionaries, movie nights, homemade banana cookies.

Yesterday was Ryan's mom's birthday. We baked her a cake and later at night she mentioned that it was her first birthday cake in a long time. She admitted to having seen it when one of us opened the fridge earlier in the afternoon, and when she did it gave her goosebumps. I think she's pretty neat.

In 1983 a boat sunk 15 feet from my aunt's cottage.
When we were young,
We use to paddle boat ourselves across the lake and over the sunken ship.
I always thought there was something really mysterious about that spot.
Like some kind of treasure lay low beneath the water.

music: White Stripes-We are going to be friends.

Our apartment is empty, except for the blankets on the floor.
I think people know when some things aren't right, and living in Langley wasn't for me.
I'm happy we're moving, and although I've always had reservations for my homes,
I'm not sad to see this one go.

We've had fun here.
I've read a lot of books,
cooked a lot of meals,
taken a lot of walks.

But it wasn't for me.

So tonight we're drinking red wine,
Ryan's painting in the corner of the room
and I'm thinking out loud to whoever's interested.

We're talking about cross Canada trips,
Violin lessons,
our brothers
and our new place in Vancouver.

I'm excited.
Goodbye suburbs,
Hello Vancouver.

Love Song

Nov. 27th, 2007 | 11:52 pm
music: Jeff Buckley-We all fall in love sometimes

We have a Beta fish.

She has grouchy days,
and she has funny ones too.

I’ve seemed to be thinking about death a lot.
Not about my own, but of the ones that have happened in my life.
I never seize to be amazed at how I’ve given time of day to such a topic.

And I guess I’m starting to wonder what that means.

I think death is one of life’s greatest causes.
My mom used to tell me that whenever someone died,
Another one was born.

And I think that’s when I started thinking about God.

But I think about other things too.
I think about sharks and Greece,
favorite smells, forests,
people that live to be a hundred.

I dream of panda bears and wounded crickets.
When I go to sleep I hear music.

music: Wilco-Far, far away.

On parle plus parlabré francé,
Ici on parle n'importe quoi
Pour se faire entendre
comprends-moi bien,
Ma grand-mere parlait
la langue du roi
mais nous sommes tous
colonizés, o.k
Ça va et ça vien.

Poetes parlant entre eux
dans les bistro de Paris
Buvant plusieurs verres.

Regardant dans le mirroir,
Ce soir comme si
il etait assis sur la galerie
Devant de chez toi

T'as vu?
Toi et moi soyons
Plus valables et bientot

Je te salue et
je t'embrasse.

Coeur de cheval,
Coureur, battement régulier
Longue distance et haut plateau.

Un pas devant l'autre prendant longtemps.
